Who we are

West4 Women is a group of local women who meet regularly to socialise, network, support each other and have fun. Our monthly meetings are held in the evening so that working women can join us, and our calendar of activities is varied and interesting.

Formerly, known as the Chiswick Working Mother’s group, West 4 Women was established in 1983 by a group of working women. Years later, we are still going strong and our programme continues to evolve to offer new, entertaining events every year.

We...

  • Live in Chiswick, Hammersmith, Acton, Brentford
  • Have a diverse range of careers
  • Have experience of balancing family life with work
  • Have tried full time, part-time, freelancing, contracting, staying home…
  • Have kids of all ages at many different schools
  • Share recommendations for help of all kinds -builders, plumbers, cleaners, babysitters etc.
  • Are a non-profit group and all of our activities are organised by members who volunteer their time and skills.
  • Support local charities in our community.

What we do

We meet monthly, either in members’ homes or other venues. Our events programme is wide-ranging and eclectic to cater for the diverse interests of our members. It includes talks and demonstrations, quizzes, meals out, theatre trips, guided walks, book groups… The list is endless and we look for fresh ideas every year at our annual planning meeting.

Within the group, we also share requests and recommendations for local help and services of all kinds from childcare to gardeners to electricians. Members' requests are circulated to the whole group and will often receive a half dozen responses or more.

New Members are always very welcome.
